Secondary water - supply valve

The secondary water supply valve plays a vital role in cutting off water flow, regulating flow, reducing and stabilizing water pressure, and achieving water system balance.

In the pump room

● Pump inlet and outlet: Install a gate valve or butterfly valve at the pump inlet to cut off the water source during maintenance and prevent water backflow; install a check valve at the outlet to prevent water backflow and protect the pump. Gate valves or ball valves will also be installed to facilitate the control of the water flow and pressure of the pump.

● Pipeline connection points: Valves such as butterfly valves and ball valves are used at the connection points of different pipelines in the pump room to facilitate the inspection, maintenance or modification of local pipelines. The corresponding valves can be closed to isolate the fault or construction area.

Around the water tank (pool)

● Water inlet: Install an electric valve or pneumatic valve to cooperate with the water level control system to automatically control the water inlet according to the water level of the water tank. When the water level reaches the set upper limit, the valve is closed, and when it reaches the lower limit, the valve is opened to replenish water.

● Water outlet: Usually a gate valve or butterfly valve is set to control the water flow of the water tank to ensure the stability of water supply to users. A check valve is also installed to prevent water from flowing back into the water tank.

● Overflow port: Install a valve on the overflow pipe. When the water level in the water tank is too high, the excess water can be discharged by opening the valve to protect the safety of the water tank.

In the water supply network

● Connection between the main pipe and the branch pipe: Install valves such as ball valves and gate valves at the connection between the main pipe and the branch pipe. When there is a problem with the branch pipe, the corresponding valve can be closed without affecting the water supply in other areas.

● Zoned water supply: For systems such as high-rise buildings that use zoned water supply, pressure reducing valves and balancing valves are installed on the water supply pipes of each zone to adjust the water supply pressure of each zone and ensure the stability of the water pressure on each floor.

● Important nodes: Install valves at important nodes of the water supply network, such as bends and branches, so that when a failure occurs in the network, the fault point can be quickly located and isolated, and the scope of water outage can be reduced.

User end

● Household pipe: Install a household valve on the household pipe of each household, usually a ball valve or a gate valve, so that users can close the water source when performing maintenance or renovation indoors without affecting the normal water use of other users.

● Special water-using equipment: For some equipment that has special requirements on water quality and water pressure, such as water heaters and water purifiers, corresponding valves will be installed at the water inlet to facilitate the inspection and maintenance of the equipment.
